The Latin American Tailings and Water Congress has established itself as the leading platform for the exchange of knowledge and the search for solutions for the management of tailings and water in mining. In its first edition, the event took place under the organization of the College of Engineers of Peru, with the aim of contributing to the technical and scientific development in this crucial area for mining in the region.

The congress focused on identifying recent findings and discoveries, as well as promoting research in universities and research centers. The participation of international experts and companies was a fundamental component of the event.

MiningiDEAS participated virtually from Spain in the congress, in collaboration with its partner Fernando Borràs Castelló, CEO of Drones for Geology. Together, they presented a paper on the “Implementation of Underwater ROVs for Geological and Environmental Sampling in Mining Ponds.” This presentation highlighted technological innovations in the field of underwater sampling and its application in tailings and mine water management.
